yoga80 “Teacher Training Graduate” Karthi Rajendran

Why did you choose the yoga80 200-Hour “Expand Your Practice” Teacher Training?

Because Rob made me… 🙂 Seriously though, I decided to enroll in the training not necessarily because I wanted to teach, but because I wanted to learn more about yoga, delve deeper into a consistent practice, and just like the title says, expand my practice. I suppose I could have chosen training at another studio, but from the very first time I came into yoga80, I felt so very welcomed and comfortable. There is a genuine warmth and caring that both Reegan and Rob have for their students. I didn’t feel the need to look anywhere else.

How has the experience of participating in yoga80 Teacher Training impacted your life?

I definitely spend a lot more time at the studio :-)… I think the biggest impact is that I’m teaching and I can play a small role in helping people feel better and grow their own yoga practices. It’s a great feeling.

Are you a yoga80 Instructor and if so, how has teaching affected your yoga practice?

Yes, I teach twice a week at yoga80’s Sorrento Valley location and love it! It is just another way to learn about yoga and it really allows you to have a deeper understanding of the details of the asana practice as well as the spiritual aspects of yoga. It is a privilege and joy to share positive energy with yoga80 students.

Tell us about your “Glory” moment from yoga80 Teacher Training.

Our workshops with Ricky Tran were amazing. That was the first time I really felt Uddiyana Bandha (and eventually Nauli Kriya) and the power of making your body light by engaging your core. Very cool to be around him.
